BOTOX Cosmetic

Botox Injection

At NRV Family & Sports Dentistry, Dr. Jay Bass is proud to offer BOTOX® treatment as part of our comprehensive approach to facial aesthetics.

BOTOX® is a revolutionary approach to reversing the effects of facial wrinkles. Crow’s feet, worry lines, and frown lines can all be a thing of the past. These dynamic wrinkle lines are all treatable with this procedure. Cosmetic denervation is the process of injecting Botox into the tiny facial muscles that create wrinkles.

Why Choose NRV Family & Sports Dentistry for Your Botox Treatment?

Our practice combines dental expertise with aesthetic training to provide exceptional Botox results. We understand facial anatomy in unique detail, making our office the perfect setting for precise Botox injections.

Just as we prioritize your comfort during dental procedures, we ensure your Botox experience is comfortable, safe, and delivers natural-looking results.

Before BOTOX Injections

Our experienced team will evaluate your medical history prior to treatment to better understand your overall health. We’ll conduct a thorough facial examination to determine the most effective injection sites. All of your questions, issues, and concerns will be discussed during your personalized consultation.

The areas that will be treated are marked, and digital photographs are taken to determine the extent of improvement after treatment. Our careful planning ensures optimal results that enhance your natural beauty.

The BOTOX® Procedure at NRV Family & Sports Dentistry

BOTOX® injections at our office are performed without anesthesia because the procedure is virtually painless. Only a very small sting is felt when the injections are made. The effects are not permanent and may need to be repeated two to three times per year to retain the effects. However, research has suggested that long-term use of the injections leads to a longer duration of each treatment’s effect.

Individuals over 65 may not experience results as dramatic. Botox is only useful in treating expression lines and cannot be used to repair sagging skin caused by aging. Dr. Bass will provide a realistic assessment of expected results during your consultation.

Post-Procedure Information

After receiving injections, you may experience slight bruising around the area that quickly fades. Normal activities can be performed immediately, making this truly a “lunchtime procedure.” Possible side effects are temporary weakness of nearby muscles, or, in rare cases, an eyelid may droop. BOTOX® is completely reversible so any side effect is only a temporary condition. Dr. Bass will explain all associated risks at the time of your consultation.

We provide complete aftercare instructions and are always available to address any concerns following your treatment. As a full-service practice, we’re committed to your satisfaction beyond just the procedure itself.

BOTOX® FAQs

What exactly is Botox and how does it work?

Botox is a purified protein derived from Botulinum toxin. It works by temporarily blocking nerve signals to targeted muscles, reducing their movement and activity. This relaxation of muscles helps smooth existing wrinkles and prevent new ones from forming in the treated areas. We use only FDA-approved, genuine Botox products for your safety and optimal results.

How long does a Botox treatment take at NRV Family & Sports Dentistry, and is there any downtime?

A typical Botox treatment session at our office takes only 15-30 minutes, which is why it’s often called a “lunchtime procedure.” There’s minimal to no downtime, and most patients return to normal activities immediately. Some minor redness or swelling at injection sites typically resolves within hours.

When will I see results from my Botox treatment, and how long do they last?

Results typically begin to appear within 24-48 hours, with full effects visible after 7-14 days. Botox results generally last 3-4 months for most patients, though this can vary based on individual factors like metabolism, muscle strength, and treatment area. Dr. Bass will create a personalized treatment plan that may include scheduled follow-ups to maintain your results year-round.

What are the most common areas treated with Botox at your practice?

The most common treatment areas at NRV Family & Sports Dentistry include:

  • Forehead lines
  • Frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines)
  • Crow’s feet around the eyes
  • Temporalis muscles to treat headaches from bruxism (tooth grinding)
  • TMJ muscles to treat jaw pain from bruxism (tooth grinding)
  • Lips (for gummy smile correction)

Dr. Bass's extensive knowledge of facial anatomy allows for precise treatment that complements your natural features and dental aesthetics.

Are there any side effects I should be aware of with Botox treatments?

Most side effects are mild and temporary, including injection site redness, swelling, or bruising. Less common side effects may include headache, temporary eyelid drooping, or asymmetry. It’s important to disclose your complete medical history before treatment to minimize risks. Dr. Bass' medical training and attention to detail help ensure safe, beautiful results.
